The BBO is first and foremost a research and education facility. By providing educational opportunities we hope to create awareness of Roebuck Bay’s global importance and ultimately, conserve our migratory shorebirds. More broadly, birds are a fantastic educational tool, they are accessible, universal and create a lot of opportunities for multi-disciplinary learning and connecting students with nature.
The BBO hosts play-groups, primary, secondary and TAFE students for excursions and incursions. Please contact us if you would like to arrange this.
We have complied a set of resources for educators and the community to use. Some have been developed specifically by the BBO and the others are terrific resources we’ve collated from a range of sources that appeal to a range of ages and areas of study.
